Hope everyone in Libya, especially the American Women in Libya are doing great and are having a wonderful Ramadan. My husband was transferred from Indianapolis, IN to Fort Worth, Texas in August of this year, so it has been a crazy past 6-8 months. Sorry i haven't been bloggin' lately. But i have been enjoyin Khadijahteri's blog she always makes me laugh and reflect and all kinds of good stuff. Ladies i feel like i was back in Libya this summer, it sure is hot down here in Texas. We wasn't even able to make it back to Libya this summer. My father-in-law, the one you saw in this blog, who was in the hospital, passed away earlier this year, and then we had about three weddings, one nephew and 2 nieces who were married in Zawia, this last year since we came back to the states. Oh also, my oldest daughter Maryam graduated from High School this past May. 6 more to go...... That is about it for my update. Y' all take care now.

Dawud Wharnsby, however, is such an artist. A third generation Canadian with Scottish and English roots, Dawud Wharnsby's recordings and reputation have established him as an institution in the realm of English language Nasheed (spiritual songs of a world-rhythm/folk style, drawn from Islamic cultural and musical roots). Sickened by the ongoing slaughter of those who carry the banner of La illaha illallah. But admittedly there is a difference here. We do not believe in compromise or violence. We recieved this cat from the kids' Uncle Mahmoud and his family when we first moved to Zawia, Libya and right before we came back to the states in April she bacame a mom. In the next picture you will she her new babies. My kids were very sad to leave thier relatives and the new babies.

My brother-in-law and neice were killed by a car. It is so tragic that so many are killed in Libya by cars. I just want to post these two pictures of Habib and his daughter Huda. I think that the drivers should slow down and be more aware of their surroundings and it would help alot if they would get their driver's license and follow the rules of the road.

For the Love of Reading......

KhadijaTeri passed on the challenge of the book meme to five people and i happened to be one of them. I don't know how she guessed it, but i also love reading. Grew up reading. Passed the love of reading on to at least two of my children that i know of, my oldest daughter Maryam and my fourth child Yuseph. I brought ten books from America. I have finished one of them that as it turns out i bought on our return trip from Libya, (last summer) at the London Heathrow Airport, and i just now got the chance to read it on this trip here. I will try to bring them with me anytime i come to Tripoli to any of the American Women gatherings. So Khadija if you are interested, let me know.

Total Number of Books owned: Could not even try to guess, plus i did alot of borrowing from the library. Had to get rid of so many books when we decided to move here. It was really a sad time.....

Last Book Bought: I bought some books recently just for the trip here, but they all have to with the English Grammar. Not really a book that you would want to sit down and read.......

Last Book Read: See the first paragraph, i cannot remember the name of the book, but i felt like i had to finish it because of all the travelling it had been through with me. From London to Indiana, from Indiana to Chicago to Zurich then finally here to Zawia.......

Five Books that Mean alot to Me: of course besides the Quran.
1. Little House on the Prairie: I also loved that series, try to read them to my little ones also.

2. Fatawa for women: Helps with questions.

3. Children Medical Help Book. Helped with the children.

4. Historical Romance Fiction: Love them and can't keep away.

Hey everyone. We are finally here and settled for the moment. Got the required living space, the appliances and all the other necessary items needed for living. Got the asian version of a minivan called microvan and a cell phone. My hubby has went back to America and he has called saying that he made it to the states safe and sound. He will be heading to Germany on Monday for his work. I have neighbors showing up at the house unexpectedly, this is something that never happens in America, though i think it is a good thing, that way you get to know your neighbors. Still workin on the Libyan Drivers License...........Patience, alot of it is needed when dealin' with things. I will try to start takin some pictures of things around the house and town so i can get them posted. Take care. Enjoy the sunshine......

1 week left to get everything packed, sold, given to charity, bought, cleaned, cut, turned off, cancelled.
My hubby made it back from Kuwait, now l just got to get him motivated to go through his 3 bookshelves filled with books.......
The kids are all having finals this week and on Monday, so not much help from them.
Just found out my mom is having surgery on the 31st of May to remove one of her Kidneys, they found some kind of mass on it and they won't know if it is benign or malignant till they go in. I will be all the way across the world when this happens, Please make dua for her.
I've been watching the weather in Tripoli from the Yahoo website, looks like it will be in the 90's when we get there. I'am leaving the cool weather behind, don't know if l am ready for the hot weather. Guess l will have to get ready.

I've gotten rid of a lot of clothes and dishes and books. The apartment still looks full of stuff. It seems like everytime l turn around l am going through yet still more stuff, dividing it between the trash, Goodwill and giving it away. Will it ever end? It reminds me of a bowl of grapenut cereal, no matter how much you eat of that one bowl of cereal, it seems like it never gets empty. Don't know if you get my meaning or not, but hey, that's ok. I've posted the "for Sale" lists and had my kids pass them out to thier friends, so now it is a waiting game, waiting to see if we will be able to sale some of this stuff or will we end up donating it to the masjed. My hubby is still in Kuwait, doesn't come home til this coming weekend. By then we will have only 1 week left to go.....

The countdown has started. We have 26 days to get everything sold. Everything else packed. The apartment cleaned for final inspection. Plus while all of this is going on, l still have all seven children who have to go to school and then come home and do homework. Feed them all and get them to bed at a descent time. I know God will help me through this time of stress and l have faith that with Gods help l will find the strength to get it all done. I only have to focus on the end picture of us all being in Libya. Where the stress of everyday life is very low. Where l won't have to worry about the bills, every month. Where family is the main goal for everyone. Where the air is clean, and not polluted. Where you can actually sat down to a cup of tea and actually taste the tea, because your not in such a hurry to be somewhere else by a certain time. Where you feel safe leaving your car doors unlocked. Where the people actually have manners and are not afraid of using them. I wish these 26 days were already over and we were already there...........

Grandpa passed away...

My Grandpa passed away on Monday and his funeral was on the 22nd of this month. I'am kinda of upset with my self for not being able to go to his funeral. My hubby had to go overseas to Kuwait with his job on Saturday the 23rd so we had to get him ready, then i really couldn't see leaving all seven of my kids at home be theirselves. We live in Indiana and most of my family lives in Oklahoma and in Arkansas. I would've had to stay the night since thier is only two flights a day to Fort Smith, Arkansas, so i decided for the sake of the kids, not to go. Life gives us some hard trials sometimes........
